Delivery Information

Delivery Information & Protocols

1.1 Delivery Zones and Times

  • Service Areas: We deliver within a 10 km radius of our offices. Orders placed for areas outside our designated zones will be cancelled and refunded.

  • Delivery Schedule: Deliveries are made between 09:00 and 16:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

  • Real-Time Tracking: Where possible, Customers will receive a notification SMS when their order is dispatched and an estimated arrival time.

1.2 Cold Chain Integrity & Packaging

To maintain the safety and quality of your raw and cooked meal kits:

  • Insulated Packaging: We use [Insert Packaging Type, e.g., double-walled cardboard with biodegradable wool liners] and frozen gel packs designed to keep contents at a safe temperature for up to 4 hours after delivery.

  • Temperature Monitoring: Our internal logistics follow strict cold chain protocols. Once the package is delivered, the maintenance of this cold chain becomes the Customer's responsibility.

  • Immediate Storage: Upon receipt, all meat, dairy, and cooked meals must be transferred to a refrigerator (+5 Degree Celsius) or freezer (-18 Degree Celsius) immediately.

1.3 Unattended Deliveries ("Drop-and-Go")

  • If no one is available to receive the delivery, our courier will not leave the package unattended.

  • Transfer of Risk: Risk of loss, theft, or spoilage passes to the Customer the moment the package is handed over at the delivery address.

  • Van Wyk Vendors is not liable for spoilage caused by the package sitting in high temperatures or direct sunlight.

1.4 Delivery Failures & Load Shedding

  • Access Issues: If our driver cannot access your premises (e.g., incorrect gate code, unresponsive security), and the delivery cannot be completed, the kit will be returned to our facility. Because the food is perishable, no refund will be issued for failed deliveries due to Customer error.

  • Load Shedding & Infrastructure: While we strive for punctuality, Van Wyk Vendors is not liable for delays caused by traffic signal failures during load shedding, severe weather, or provincial road closures.
